What's the difference between a conventional tap and a thread insert tap?
The external diameter of a helicoil thread insert tap is slightly larger, offering the capacity to accommodate the threaded insert while tapping to the precise diameter required for insertion of your screw.
Our taps for thread inserts ensure a precise, clean cut. Since every material reacts differently to the tapping process (particularly in terms of chip formation), it's essential to use the right tap for the specific material, with the appropriate cutting angles and surface treatment.
Precise fit and stability are the distinguishing features of our taps compared to conventional models. We use only high-quality steel in their manufacture, guaranteeing a long service life for your tools.
Our STI or EG taps are produced to exacting standards in HSS or HSSE steel.
Single-cut tap
Whether you want to tap by hand or with a machine, the single-cut tap will suit you perfectly. We recommend its use for thread repairs and small-scale tapping. This single-cut tap has only one flute, and the flutes absorb swarf, making it unsuitable for mass production.
Eco machine tap, for blind and through holes (Medium series)
The Eco HSSE machine tap is the specialist for medium production runs.
We offer two models:
We recommend the use of Eco machine taps for applications on steel materials up to 750 N/mm².
Pro machine tap, for blind and through holes (Large series)
The PRO HSSE machine tap, the ideal tap for high-volume production. One of the strongest in our range, if not the strongest, it is capable of tapping :
Whether it's a through hole or a blind holethe PRO machine tap works quickly and impresses with its ease of use and long service life.
Combination tap (tapping and threading)
For mild steels or non-ferrous metals such as aluminium or magnesium, the combination tap is an excellent compromise. It features a guide nose that engages in the old, defective thread, expands it and then cuts the receiving thread.
Due to its nose, the tool is only suitable for through holes.
The combination tap is often used to repair spark plug threads.
Space-saving: by using a single tool to perform two operations, this frees up space on the shop floor or production line, which can be invaluable in manufacturing environments where space is limited.

We are committed to Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and plan to obtain ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 certification in 2024.
We are currently forming a multi-disciplinary group to reduce our carbon footprint. As part of this initiative, we will be carrying out a full carbon assessment (SCOPES 1, 2 and 3) during 2023, which will enable us to evaluate our overall environmental impact.
